if Artie had managed to get clean and avoided the drama do you think he would still be a memeber of the show today?

Listening occasionally I just wouldn't see him fitting into Howard's new world order and he would of been let go.

0.0 chance. Had he stayed clean, he would have sabotaged his job in some other way. He is the complete opposite of the current show: he's funny.
He wouldn't have fit into the 'view on radio' show.

No way. There is no way he would have been able to sit in that chair and listen to Howard lather up the asses of people like Ellen and Jennifer Aniston without saying completely offensive things. Which would have been hilarious and great radio, but he would have gotten fired eventually.

Artie's going to do what Artie's going to do. No way he'd still be there. He would find a way to get canned.

Just to build on this great point, there was an instance on-air where Jimmy Kimmel was talking about what a great guy Tom Cruise was and Artie let him have it pretty good. And you don't need to be Kreskin to figure out how well he would have responded to the Turk-GTD revolution of 2013. Can't see the pride of Union fitting in with the current regime.

Can't see Jackie fitting in at all for that matter, can you imagine how awkward it would be if Jackie were passing a post-evolved Howard notes in 2016?

Clean Artie would be smart enough to keep his mouth shut, do the Show 3 days a week and make huge stand-up money on the side. Also, with that and Howard's vacation schedule, Clean Artie could do TV or movie roles.

The one problem with that is Clean Artie isn't nearly as funny as Degenerate Artie and would never make it to Mad TV or the Howard Stern Show.

Of course he'd be there. Fred is still there and he doesn't even do anything anymore. Richard and Sal are there. The show certainly isn't the same as when they first arrived either.

Imagine what Artie would do when Stern told Ellen Degeneres, "I just love it when you dance."

He would have already gone after that slimebag Howard as he did Teddy.

    I would say 100% YES.

Artie would have followed suit along with everyone else (Fred, Benji, Sal, Richard, Jason, Ect...). Artie would still be sitting there but his microphone would be off 80% of the time. He would have been told never to comment during celebrity interviews. He would basically be a neutered Benji. His salary would have been cut over the past few contracts more than likely forcing him to leave but he never would because he still is a Howard Stern nut licker after his Daddy threw him to the curb at his worst time.

If he was still there that would mean he ate his own balls like the rest of the crew and no one would like him anyhow.

However, just for fun picture old drunk Artie on the WUS after Howie spent an hour with Sally Field, that gay Australian boy band, or worse yet Larry King without bringing up Sandy Koufax. Now that would have been good radio (then subsequently edited out of the replays, but still good)

"IF" he had manage to keep clean he would have left on a good note and do something else, stand up, tv shows and movies were always Arts dream, the stern show paid the best and got him free plugs, plus the fans that he does or did have came from the show.

Excellent question, and no freaking way.

    No if, ands or buts.

Howard is far too PC and timid now to have anyone in that studio that could say something controversial or negative about anyone or anything.

Howard's become so incredibly douchey, taking chances and having fun in the studio is dead forever.

Sorry Artie. Howard considers you a neanderthal with a foul mouth and bad taste. You don't have a chance at getting back in there..... even though most people and ex-fans in the entire world would love to have you back.

Aside from the ill-advised move to Sirius, I think Artie's meltdown and subsequent firing had a lot to do with where the show's at today, and if he would've cleaned his shit up and stuck around, Stern would've had no reason to take the show into the territory it's in today, so yeah, I think he'd still be around. There'd be no reason to fill the show with 90 minute interviews... as it is, he's got virtually nobody to riff off of.

In a fantasy world where Art went full sober, he'd have been offered too much to go out on his own at some point and he would have taken the opportunity to jump ship.

He'd be with the TV crew. Around!
