    I seem to recall hearing a theory that terrorists (one could argue that Hitler was a terrorist) have failed in their personal lives, so they make it an ambition to "seduce" an entire country, to kind of "show the world" that they can enthrall not just one woman/art critic/et cetera, but an entire NATION, the entire WORLD ....
