Jury Finds Steven Hayes Guilty In Connecticut Triple Murder Steven Hayes was found guilty today in the deadly home invasion that left a woman and her two daughters brutalized and murdered, making him eligible for the death penalty. http://abcnews.go.com/US/TheLaw/jury-finds-steven-hayes-guilty-deadly-petit-home/story?id=11793886
I heard the details of this story one time on MSNBC. It caused a disturbance in my mind. After that, I avoided reading about it on-line or in the New York Times. It bothered me because I kept putting myself in the survivor's boots. How do you live with yourself afterwards? He was on the news this morning. "Live". We were having our late morning breakfast and had the sound on the tv on the breakfast table turned down. Looked up and saw the guy preening and mincing with his perfectly coiffed hair and his perfect fit tailored suit and I said to my wife - "hey look... jury's finished with their verdict and this guy must be the jury foreman. Look at him showing off in front of the cameras. Watch how he genuflects. What an asshole." Then I turned the sound up. And found out who he really was. I didn't feel bad about judging him for the preeening asshole he was. I just wondered about what kind of homicidal maniacs commit such heinous acts on young girls and their mother and wind up leaving this guy alive? What kind of idiots are these ghouls? They've offed the fairer members of the tribe and leave Dad alive to supply an eyewitness account of their deeds? No. I'd rather go down dying defending my loved ones than be a survivor and have to live the rest of my life with his memories of his wife's and his children's final hours.
Dad had a wicked smashed forehead, I'm bettin' those two assholes thought he was dead when they lit the place on fire and split.
Just a guess, but I would think if I was a criminal fuck doing a home invasion where there was a man, a woman, and little girls? The man would be the first one I dispatched and put out of commission. He's most likely your only real threat. Having typed that, I had to go look, and this is what I found on CBS news: Prosecutors said Hayes and another ex-con, Joshua Komisarjevsky, broke into the family's house in Cheshire in 2007, beat the girls' father with a baseball bat and forced their mother, Jennifer Hawke-Petit, to withdraw money from a bank before sexually assaulting and strangling her. Then they tied the girls, ages 11 and 17, to their beds, put pillowcases over their heads, poured gasoline on or around them and set the house on fire, authorities said. The girls died of smoke inhalation. William Petit told the jury he woke up on his couch the morning of July 23, 2007, feeling terrific pain and the sensation that blood was running down his face. He saw two people standing nearby. "If he moves, put two bullets in him," Petit recalled one of the assailants saying. So they burned the kids alive. And there's a question if we need the death penalty? No question at all in my mind. I just wish they'd still let us burn people at the stake. "Some folks need killin'." - Karl Childers
i would have spared them becoming future cock suckers by emptying a clip each into them after our dogs took them down the f*cking cops should be joining these jerkoffs. they wasted 1/2 hour setting up a perimeter and failing to respond while the poor wife and kids were being raped & tortured ct is a piece of shit state compared to most when it comes to gun ownership and being allowed to protect yourself. douchebags would rather just let the criminals have guns and you die waiting for the cops to save your ass
I have a 44 magnum next to my bed, also a 12 gauge pump loaded with double ought buck. That piece of shit would have had no face left.
I can go buy a rifle or shotgun at Walmart or Cabelas with no problem. I could get a pistol too but I think theres a waiting peroid for background checks.
Nah, they would have both been dead. We were talking about this guy because he was in trial today. The other dude goes on trial next year, NEXT YEAR! Can you believe our fucked up justice system?
rifles and shotguns are easy most places handguns not easy in ct & then on top of that you try open carry & conceal carry ct reciprocity none
I'd be willing to bet any amount of money that there wasn't one gun in the house. People up here are funny about guns, Dawg. The handgun laws in NYC for insane, WTF are they for? Who are they helping? The fucking criminals seem to have no shortage of handguns.
I don't know Connecticut. Never passed through it for some reason or other when driving in and out of Manhattan. But you're right about the cops. They should taken the murderers out immediately. I'm for a death sentence upon apprehension -ala Judge Dredd (the British comic zine -not the fucked up Stallone movie).
that should more than take care of them the only reason i only use handguns instead of shot guns at home is because i'd be afraid i'd catch the animals with some of the shot do you have one of these holders?
