Howard expects the staff, even those with kids/families, to remain in the city during the storm so they can make it in to work tomorrow. Would you do this? These people work for a lame morning zoo radio show, they are not emergency personnel or medical staff. If Howard had a shred of decency he'd cancel tomorrow's show and make it up on Thursday.

Unfortunately for his staff, this is the bullshit, meaningless gesture that Howie uses to convince himself that he's so dedicated to his profession. The guy shows up a hundred days a year, but goes on like it's his unbelievable work ethic that demands this idiocy. Never mind the fact he's worked what, five days in the last month and a half? God forbid you have to drag your lazy ass into the studio on a Thursday for the first time in who knows how many years.

"No other DJs care about their fans enough to come in to work this morning except us, Robin."

    "Robin?"

Way to brave the elements for six blocks, hero. If somebody told him he had to spend the night in a hotel and then find his way out to Connecticut or Long Island the next day, he'd be crying like a little bitch.

It would 100% depend on what my salary and benefits package were.

And give up one of his very, very few four-day-weekends?

He wouldn't do it for hurricane, he sure as hell won't do it for a blizzard.

My husband just started a new job in October so he's pretty much low man on the totem pole and has to go in.
It sucks cuz we're supposed to get slammed, he's an hour away and we're dealing with one car.
    STFU Howard asshole Stern!

There is absolutely no reason or excuse to put an entertainment show ahead of the very real safety of your workers.

I predict that much like Hurricane Sandy, most of the staff will either not bother coming in, or be stuck with roads closing. Shuli will find his way in, and boast again about leaving his wife and kids home to fend for themselves. Gary will be on the ISDN line and Robin (from her ISDN line) will blast him for being lazy.

It would be hard not to if he opens up his Manhattan duplex as accommodations or pays for first class hotel rooms. Otherwise, considering he couldn't make the short perfect weather trips to even attend Gary's dad's funeral or Richard's wedding, then he can go fuck himself.

with most other minor celebs and/or zookeepers, yeah, you'd be right. However, with the pathologically damaged hater of Leno and Peet who has sabotaged the careers of writers who've dared write the truth about he and his Wonk, it's more likely he's damn serious

My brother and I were saying just about these same exact things, as we listened to Jon Hein on the Wrap Up show trying to convince everyone
about Howard's "incredible" work ethic. Yeah, years ago, he did care enough to show up a lot. But now??? It's just a token gesture, really,
to talk about how "dedicated" you are, when you barely show up on SUNNY days, let alone during major snowstorms!

Oh, and let's not forget about Howard's "good" attitude when he DOES show up. Beginning of many shows: 'I'm so tired, Robin. Why am I
even doing this show?" Yeah, Mr. Dedicated-to-my-Job. F--you. Put on reruns during the snowstorm, Asshole. No one'll know the difference.
