A 50-ish guy I work with in a nice white collar corporate office environment paints his head black under his thinning hair. He's a good guy, a man's man. I hadn't really noticed until standing behind him in the elevator. It literally looks like his scalp is black. He must know every realizes what he's doing, right?
I can only imagine and wonder if it comes off in the shower, how he puts it on without getting all ver his body and bathroom, what his pillow looks like, what happens in the rain or if he sweats in the summer.
Would you ever consider doing it?
101 played them spraying Grillo today, which made me think to share. It looks kind of like this. But it's not a bald spot he's covering, it's just under the thinning hair.

Ron Popeil did an infomercial years ago adopt that stuff. Called GLH (great looking hair) lol. If my hair was thinning, I don't think I'd go that route and just let nature take its course.

No. I couldn't be bothered. My hair is getting thin, when it looks like shit I'll shave it. You're going bald, be a man about it, and own that shit. My boss has a ridiculous comb over and he looks retarded.

I've actually seen worse... a woman doing the exact same thing, but with her, it was her entire head.

There were times she didn't put it on properly so you could see it flaking around her hairline.

I always felt incredibly bad for her for that. I mean I was born with a receding hairline so I knew I was going to have that problem and when it started for real, I was still incredibly pissed off about it - even though I knew it was coming.

For a woman to go through that, not ever thinking she'd go bald, that just sucks.

I don't know what to say. I have rock star hair, and can't even understand this.

Maybe I shouldn't have replied, and brought up the fact that I have rock star hair.

So I was watching American Ninja Warrior a week or so ago, and during the pointless profiles of one of the contestants, it was revealed that he was struck with Alopecia in his mid-twenties! That scared the fuck out of me and I dove headfirst into researching ways that I might avoid this silent killer.

I wound up at the National Institute for Skin Diseases and here are their recommendations for how to cope with it...

    • Try wearing a wig, hairpiece, scarf, or cap.
    • Use a hair-colored powder, cream, or crayon applied to the scalp for small patches of hair loss to make the hair loss less obvious.
    • Use an eyebrow pencil to mask missing eyebrows.
That's their best advice - take a Crayola to the dome.

Personally, I'd take the more dignified route... Overdosing on sleeping pills.
