I'm listening to the March 20, 2006 show and man what a funny "historic" day in Howard Stern Show history. It is also a very painful reminder of how FUNNY and fantastic the show once was. I know there are arguments all the time about Artie but he really was a huge part of the fun and funny.

Here are some of the highlights of just this one day.
-Howard said "Beth has a horrible diet. She eats all crap all day".
-Howard says "If anyone bitches about us taking Fridays off, fuck you. We have the right to take every Friday off. We are allowed to technically".
-The first playing of the Mike Walker fart.
-First playing of the Eric The Midget "midget cock" call from Richard.
-Howard went to Scores and got drunk.
    -Artie imitating Blue Iris perfectly.
-Penthouse Pet Krista Ayne rides the Sybian.
-Howards spoke to his parents on the phone for a few minutes (not Howard doing an impression for 30 minutes).
-Elegant Elliot Offen on the show.
    -David Spade visits.

    What a show. :freebird:

Howard is full hypocrite mode here, sells the Sirius show as 5 days a week, now pulls out the "technicality" bullshit. This "good" show just reminds everyone how much he sucks.

Yeah, it's very interesting to see how things started to change along with how non politically correct the show was. It's true there is no way Artie could be on the show today.

The first year on Sirius Stern was on fire. The second he got engaged to Beth the slide began. The day he said he was getting married because Beth felt "disrespected" by the doorman i wish he had been hit by a bus.

Todays Howard Stern is the equivilent of the fat, jumpsuit Elvis, a pathetic shadow of what he was.

@stuttering john melendez was on quite alot yesterday. It was a good dose of mammary lane where it was just the old days and people having fun in the studio goofing on each other.

re: Artie laughing at the fart... there is something about Artie laughing that is just hysterical. Like when he started laughing at the OH YEAhhhhhhh porn lady. I couldn't help but laughing along. And, as I've said here before, I rarely lol at things in real life. But Artie laughing gets me to the point of tears on many occasions.

It was such an exciting time. I could't wait to listen to the show. Plus he had been yanked off the air here just prior to his going to sirius. My mom had just passed away and I listened to the show to just get away from things. I dragged that equipment with me every where. lol Stupid boombox and piece of shit antennas. The horrible walkman thing. ... oy.

And even the 2006 shows pale in comparison to the Golden Age of 1990 to 1995, when Jackie and Billy West were still there and Howard was still reviled by Hollywood and not yet an out of touch gazillionaire.

I agree. I listened and enjoyed it but Artie was an obvious slow speed train wreck and that was sometimes tough.

I personally extend that expiration date to March of 97 when the movie came out. It wasn't until he was riding around in that fucking pope mobile that he realized he should act like the rest of the Hollywood tartlets that come on his show. Fuck him and fuck the show post March 97.
