Or should it now be called, The Jon Hein and Friends Interview Show

WUS in it's original state was a pretty entertaining concept --- A live show with Gary and Jon discussing the show that just aired and injecting behind the scenes insight.

Then it morphed into a live show on days when the radio show wasn't even on. WTF are the wrapping up if there's no show.

Then Gary started phoning it in on non-show days.

Now Gary doesn't even bother to show up or call-in on non-show days.

Now Jon (and Benji and JD) think they are celeb guest interviewers. And the guests are arguably better than Howard has on his own show. Who would you rather have as a guest? A-list director/actor John Favreau or Serena Williams' dad? Not to mention, those idiots are TERRIBLE interviewers. Compared to Howard, these guys' interviewing skills are amateurish.

Fucking shit sucks. Glad I'm not paying for it otherwise I'd be pissed.

Here is a question about something that baffles me. Why do shows like geek time and the wrap up show get better guests than the actual Stern Show? How does that happen or even make sense? I would love a good explanation for that. TIA!!!

The wus was always terrible because there was nothing new, it was just a replay with Gary and Jon praising Howard.

Better ask Jason - the only honest one on the show. Jon Hein will keep mum, just like he wouldn't say why Gary was absent.

At first, when it kept true to its mission statement, it was pretty good. But the original concept relies on FRESH LIVE SHOWS to comment on, not reruns.

Plus, they have SO much more to cover up, avoid and lie about now that it's a constant dodge-fest.

None of them have any broadcasting or comedic talent, and none have any personality. It's not their fault. IMO You as a listener has more blame than them.

This. I always found it a vile concept. I just heard the show, so what's the use, besides the occasional amusing fights

They barely talk about the show anymore. Just stupid conversations with jd or benjy.

Maybe because Stern needs detailed notes on a guest before he can talk to him on the show? Stern speaking extemporaneously isn't his best skill anymore, that's why he always seems to go to lame crutches when he's flustered nowadays, i.e. Kissing guys or dancing.

Because Howard cares about very little current stuff and would rather have Joan Rivers in again.

The Wrap Up Show in concept was a great idea, but in reality was always shit. Had it been created back in the KRock days it would have been legendary. Imagine Jackie, Gary, Fred, Billy West, Stutteing John and occasional guest appearances by Sam Kinison, Gilbert and whatever comic may have been in the studio on that day just shooting' the breeze (without the interference of the Wig & Blobin). It would be the stuff we'd still be talking about to this day.

Back in the day, before Howard's heavy censoring (much like Tom C, hypocrite Howard) staff had the entire color palette to create from. Now, thanks to wig, just a couple of shades.

Add to that, at 5 days X 5 hrs, show content was the source of a lot of material. Now that the show is 3 days a week, 4 hrs a day (w/commercials) content has to be created from scratch. That's when you get stuff like the evolved WUS. And when a decent show does come along, Howard cancels it. Baffling.

One of the things I used to LOVE back in the old days was when Howard went on vacation, Gary and Fred had to still come in and work. They would both man the mike and introduce, set up clips and tell the back stories about them. It was like the Wrap Up Show, only more truthful and entertaining.

All they do is pat themselves on the back for how hard they work for a "Daily Show", that takes place 3 days a week, some weeks

I used to like the WUS when it was what it was supposed to be - a spill over from the regular show where things that were not given their proper attention on the show could be expanded on the show. Sometimes, the WUS was actually better than the actual HSS.

Now it is just part of the Buchwald PR machine. Jon and Gary (when Gary is on) just kiss Howard's ass and talk about everything he does now is the best stuff he has ever done in his career. They do let on real callers from time to time, but ridicule anyone who has the nerve to question the greatness of Howard Stern.
