The term Halloween (and its alternative rendering Hallowe'en) is shortened from All-hallow-even, as it is the eve of "All Hallows' Day". The word Halloween is first attested in the 16th century and represents a Scottish variant of the fuller All-Hallows-Even ("evening"), that is, the night before All Hallows Day. Up through the early 20th century, the spelling "Hallowe'en" was frequently used, eliding the "v" and shortening the word. Although the phrase All Hallows is found in Old English (ealra hālgena mæssedæg, mass-day of all saints), All-Hallows-Even is itself not attested until 1556.
i live in a densely populated urban neighborhood, and trick or treaters are rare around here.
my neighbor said they only saw a dozen kids last year. i feel this is yet another example of the pussification of the universe.
Did u ever think instead of "pussyfication", ur an old fuk who lives around other old fux with No kids or ur neighborhood gives out shit candy so they go 2 da rich one? Did u?
i hate u
I h8 old ppl
They r da worst
I usually get between 200-250 trick or treaters throughout the course of the day. With it falling on Sunday this year, I don't plan on running back and forth to the door all day during the football games, so I'm just going to fill a bucket with the bags and leave a sign that says,"Please take one bag.", which means the 250 bags should be gone with the first 10 trick or treaters.
I gotta be the old dude giving out candy.
i used to be into it like richard christy..but ever since some dickhead stole my marcus the carcus...i kinda got soured..however got another marcus kicking and so far we've had a nun..mae west.scarecrow..zombie.. skeleton dude..go-go dancer and some others i couldnt figure out..i even did a candy trade w\the nun...still waiting on the egg tossers...
i suppose that the # of kids knocking on your door does depend on the demographics of your neighborhood
the mouse was half right
i think that the internet and ps3 are also to blame for the sharp drop of trick or treaters.
