Police: Florida woman attacks grandmother with knife over loud praying A Florida woman was arrested last week after police said she pulled a knife on her grandmother because she was allegedly praying loudly. Sherice Gordon, 28, became upset with her grandmother, Lynn Thompson, 70, while she was allegedly praying loudly last Wednesday in the family’s “religious room” at the back of their Key West-area home, Florida Keys News reports. Gordon asked Thompson and her cousin, Kerisha Rankine, 33, to keep it down, police added. Monroe County Sheriff's Office According to police, when the praying didn’t stop, Gordon slammed the door and came back with a large kitchen knife. Thompson said “she was in fear for her life” and that Gordon “yelled she was going to kill her” while the two struggled with the weapon, police added. An unidentified person broke up the struggle between Gordon and Thompson. Police arrived at the home with Thompson asking them not to arrest Gordon, who told officers that she never pulled a weapon on her grandmother but was attacked by the 70-year-old woman. She was arrested on a felony charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without the intent to kill. Read more at Florida Keys News.
