Today's interview with Henry Winkler was a complete cringe-worthy disaster. Howard was already talking about Winkler's wealth BEFORE he was even in the studio. The rapid-fire questioning of the Fonz came across as more of an interrogation than an interview. The Pelican repeatedly cut Winkler off before he could finish a sentence, already peppering him with the next question. Why Stern can't just have a conversation with his guests and just let them speak is beyond me.
But the worst part of the interview, if you can even call it that, was when Winkler spoke of how his father called him a "dumb dog" because of his reading difficulties as a child. Stern even asked Winkler if thinking about it brought tears to his eyes. And then what does that hook-nosed douchebag go ahead and do? He throws around the "dumb dog" term over and over and over and over again. I actually lost count of how many times he used the expression in his questions to Winkler, but I was up to 7 or 8 before I actually changed the channel.
I couldn't take anymore, and it's really too bad because I was actually interested in hearing what Henry Winkler had to say. I guess I missed all the penis and threesome questions...

Glad I missed it...after yesterday's awful interview with Bryan Cranston, I've decided not to listen to his shitty interviews anymore.

Winkler should be taking care of Erin Moran.

Winkler brought up that he liked "catch and release" Trout fishing. Of course Wiggy had to inform him that the fish still die and lecture about it.

Just heard Winkler. Howard did poorly. Didn't get into any other roles such as Arrested Development, seemed nervous early on. Harrible. Winkler had a good story to tell and he stepped all over him repeatedly.

Stepping all over his guests is a Stern trademark now. That and always trying to play amateur psychologist, asking what he thinks are probing questions designed to get the guest to open up to him. It's like he constantly needs to have his voice heard and to establish who's "in charge." Someone has to tell him to ease up, let the guest relate his or her story and not shoehorn in ridiculous cock and what-are-you-worth questions. If the Stern show has evolved, his interviewing style should as well.

Terrible interview. It was so bad, Blobbin, the Queen of Interrupting, told Howie to stop and let Winkler answer some of his questions.

Henry Winkler won't be back. Howard offended him. Why take the abuse from a pelican with a wig that have 30 fans and 69970 listeners that hate him?

Weeks like this are a good illustration of why I crack up laughing every time someone suggests Howard should have an interview-based TV show. His interviews SUCK - he asks everyone the same boring creepy questions, doesn't give them a chance to answer, and makes a fool of himself by trying to play amateur psychologist when he clearly doesn't have the intellect to pull it off. If he did the same thing on TV (and people had to actually look at him too) the show would fail miserably. The idea that he's a great interviewer is just something he and his ass-kissing friends and fans have repeated so much that people started believing it. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Yeah i agree howard's interviewing skills have diminished greatly. He used to be one helluva of interviewer but now he just cuts off his guests and asks really inane questions. I think the problem is that he's constantly looking at the time and wants to get the hell out of the studio no later than 10am. His hurry is due to his old age or that he refuses to do any more radio than he signed up for. Either way I wish H101 would just stay with Stern shuffle. Whenever i have the option i always listen to 101 over 100. Ah, what used to be!

The world has looked in it's rearview mirror and said adios to Wiggy
