Does anyone here do yoga? ... is it really such a big deal? Should I try a class, or video or two?
I tried yoga...it is really for people that are capable of slowing their mind & thoughts...
when I tried yoga, it was very zen but I keep thinking about all the stuff I had to do for the day. I really wasn't getting into the zen/meditation part.
If you are fortunate enough to be able to calm your mind & go with it, it would probably be something you like.
if you'd like to become a practicing hindu without your knowledge or consent, go for it
Oooh - that is SO not me
Yeah, well there's that too ....
that doesn't make any sense
The physical benefits alone are worth it....different kind of strength than I ever got from weights or any other type of training....plus flexibility and a sort of physical durability....This is all my opinion...but I took a few classes like 3 years ago and I still love it
as for the mental and breathing....it takes time, but it gets easier
Actually, I have read throughly about the worldest's greatest religions, and I think Buddhists are on the right track.
Bikram Yoga. It's the same high as running a 13.1 miler
Isn't that like nearly naked sweaty people doing yoga? It sounds gross.
My sister is a yoga instructor.
I really don't have any interest in it, but apparently she is good at what she does.
I took a few courses at the local gym; I don't know but I didn't care for it that much - it HURT my WRISTS SO MUCH. Having to lean on my wrists & sticking my butt up in the air all the time ... it's okay, but not my cup of tea.
The hurt will go away...that pain is lack of flexibility
