because the plot line in not thought out in advance vince gilligan and crew write one week at a time and "paint" the characters in a corner and see if the can get them out..kinda makes sense now they were on charlie rose last week look up the video on request
all this friggin debating on here about why the characters are doing this and that and the writers don't even know . we are all suckers
i dont watch much tv but i do like breaking bad because it actually does make sense and its easy to follow They keep you guessing but they answer everything
I thought that too, but I have been reading the iPad interactive book they came out with. Spoilers!!! Spoiler Remember the airplane crash season? It started out with a shot of that teddy bear floating in the pool. Slowly, bit by bit they revealed more, but never WHAT have caused the explosion or accident that the hazmat team was cleaning up. Vince Gilligan said they came up first with the teddy bear in the pool idea, then had to figure out WHAT happened. They thought a meth lab explosion would be too obvious, so someone mentioned a plane crash. They thought just a random plane crash was too cheap, so THAt's how they came up with the girlfriend plot. She dies, the dad goes into a depression, he happens to be an air traffic controller, and he causes the crash. Then entire show is based on cause and effect, chain of events. Walter stands by and watches the girlfriend die in bed, the result is an airplane crash. ALSO, if you put the episode titles in order it gives away the secret of the crash: 1 "Seven Thirty-Seven" 4 "Down" 10 "Over" 13 "ABQ" 737 Down over ABQ. (ABQ is the airline code for Albuquerque, NM)
There was an episode a while back Where Jr left the breakfast table and WW looked over and his bowl of cereal hadn't been touched. I thought brilliant! The kid is hooked on dad's dope! But alas nothing ever came of it.. And then when Walt was driving his BiL around planting GPS devices and shit, I would have sworn that he already had strong suspicions about Walt by the way he was acting, but apparently no Pretty obvious that the writers fly by the seat of their pants and change courses as they go
Im up to the 4th season and still waiting for the totally awesome, groundbreaking, best show in history stuff to happen. The storyline is almost juvenile sometimes and the writers clearly take their inspiration from tv shows and movies. Plus I cant be the only one who would like to see both wives die a painful death. I will keep watching, though cuz I cant wait for the awesome to begin
1 "Seven Thirty-Seven" 4 "Down" 10 "Over" 13 "ABQ" ' Thats just totally fuckin stupid and contrived and pretentious and reaching and stuff
