That was too funny: Alec Baldwin attempting to talk about Stern's Hamptons house at least three times and Howard immediately talking over him and changing the subject. Got to hand it to Baldwin, he does like being subversive. Anyone got pictures of the inside of this fabulous place?

I think Baldwin wasn't referring to Xanadu the movie - he was referring to Xanadu, the garish mansion built by Charles Foster Kane in Citizen Kane.

There are a few photos from the inside of "Casa de Chimney" scattered about. The one thing that stands out about the place is how cold it seems. No warmth whatsoever. I've stayed in Motels that had more of a homey feeling.

Agree. ZeroZed drew the comparison in a thread last year. This photo was found in a magazine - if you can read the tiny writing in the bottom right-hand corner, it says it's Howard Stern's living room in Southampton:

Held within the pleasure dome, decreed by Kubla Khan. To taste my bitter triumph, as the mad immortal man. Nevermore shall I return. Escape these caves of ice! For I have dined on honeydew and drank the milk of paradise. Ohhh paradise!

That looks about as comfortable and inviting as sleeping on a concrete bash in the capital building

I wonder if Baldwin is aware of how similar Howard's life and marriage is to that of Mr Kane. Being a major film buff I'm sure he is.

Being a delusional moron I'm sure the reference flew over Howard's head. He probaably thinks Xanadu is some secret base for marvel comic villains

The citizen Cain movie was loosely based on the life of William Randolph Hearst ... and the Stern living room has a definite Hearst Castle feel to it.

Yeah, I can't see Howard ever sitting down to watch Citizen Kane. It doesn't have the wit of The Munsters. The similarities to his own life would fly over his head anyway.

So that's what his marbles bought. Having money doesn't mean you have good taste.

How come he's not parking his cars in that garage. It looks like an underground parking structure with fireplaces.
