Do you have any plans when your retiring and what you'll do next?
I want to drive around in a $500,000 rv and sleep in wal mart parking lots..
This was definitely my plan for a long time. Hubby and I want to retire where it's always car season..i.e. no snow
But we just came back from myrtle beach looking at homes...the build quality for new homes going up is sub par
Plus..I think I will always yearn to be in new York
But we have 15 to 20 years until retirement
I plan on winning the lottery. I just bought 4 tickets. If you buy that many, you have to win, right?
True but only if you share half your winnings with me.
Dont make big plans for retirement people.
I'm retired and spend half of my life here at Dawgshed.
The Shed sucks you in and absorbs your life.
I plan to go to whats left of the UK after Brexit and hunt down @bennymuso.
Is Musso a Brit?
I thought he was Italian?
I don't have the kind of job that I'll need to retire from. Sure, there is lots of stress, but it's not back breaking. Also, I don't see myself ever reaching a point in life where I will say "no thank you, I have enough".
Unless I win the lottery, this is my retirement plan:
the same plan as
@Coke Can Baby
and @Biff DiBiase
Gods don't retire. always remember " hard work pays off, dreams come true. bad times don't last but BAD guys do.
Lol I'm joining ya
The shed and the mailbox on the 1 st of the month. Make sure you have enough money when you pack it in. Everything keeps going up except your retirement check
I'm gonna rent a two bedroom apartment in a nice town in Europe and have friends come and visit for a few weeks at a time and travel with them. I want to live there for a year and just travel etc., did it after college for five months and loved it.
Then I'm just gonna walk the earth for 6-8 months, disappear to wherever I feel like going.
Come back live half the year in Oregon or Jackson Hole Whyoming and the other half in Hawaii or Palm Springs. Work part time at a golf course or something and hang out with my kids.
I'm 49 now and should easily be able to retire comfortably at 62. I was really good about saving in the market and real estate 20-35 and it paid off big time.
I live in a retirement community but still work.
Buy a house in North or South Carolina, on the beach, and write.
I always figured I'd buy a place in Spain or France. The more I travel the more i realized I don't wanna be pinned down anywhere. Doing 6 month to one yr stints on diff places is probably the way to go
I'm heading into retirement already and plan on several trips over the next year. Two seperate months at a beach house, two seperate weeks back at the beach, Orlando theme parks, North Carolina, Washington DC, Gettysburg. Buying one of these so I have more room to bring the dogs and stuff on the longer trips and still cruise at high speed safely.
A little over 50% of what I earn in business goes to taxes (federal, state, self-employment tax), so I'm shutting down to have fun and concentrate on making money passively where taxes are lower and doing maintenance on the home that I'd otherwise have to pay for with post-tax dollars. I've always done that, but now I only have energy for one or the other. John Gaulting, some call it. Sorry about those jobs I won't be creating.
I'm gonna become a filthy hobo and just ride the rails..
Shoot, I probably don't even need to wait for retirement to do that!!
