Since I hate cable and the monopoly Comcast enjoys, I got rid of it six months ago. Instead of paying roughly 180 per month for my internet and TV package, this is what I now have.

AT&T high speed internet for 40 per month. The service is much more reliable than Comcast's, I haven't had a single outage (with Comcast I would get a few every week).

A desktop digital antenna gives me about 13 free local over the air channels which include the major networks, antenna TV and METV (gotta watch Svengoolie).

The Sling TV app through my XBox gives me 19 live streaming cable channels including History, TBS, Cartoon, ESPN, TNT, AMC, El Ray and IFC for 20 bucks a month.

I also have Hulu and Netflix which add up to 16 a month.

So I now pay about 76 dollars a month for a much better package. What do you have?

It's 25 mbps. Far slower than Comcast, but more than adequate for streaming and gaming. It's perfectly fine.

It's the cheapest service in Sacramento. If you get individual internet service from Comcast, it's at least 65 per month.

The speed is very good, but unless you're downloading terabytes of data every month, you probably wouldn't notice the difference between 120 and 25. I had 120 too, there's really no difference for what I do.

Over here, I have a package deal with my cell phone, the house phone, and the unlimited internet. With that I also get digital TV and a free sim card for a mifi device so I can also have cellular wifi anywhere in the country (entirely separate from what I get with my cell phone) that I use with my pads.

I have a special programed network Satt. box that pulls in ALL the Satt.'s from 3 positions over Europe so I get EVERYTHING from the U.K., France, Germany, Spain, and Italy. Many of the primary U.S. channels broadcast here in Europe with the dubbed and original English so we have a massive selection of Movies, shows, and sports. So because I have that, I only take the minimum on the digital TV as a back up when or if the Satt. network is down.

But for all the daily U.S. TV shows, I just grab them off the web and they are linked to my TV on my home network with a WD Player that also has a full 6TB server on call, we watch that about 95% of the time.

I forgot to add that, the phones/internet package costs me around $110 a month, everything else was just the equipment costs.

During storms, I lose a portion of my U.K. channels too. My dish is pointed at the central Europe cluster of satellites at the 13° and 19° position. But to get the 28° where the U.K. Sat's are at, I need to do a 45° signal bounce with the 3rd. LNB head away from the others. So heavy clouds and stormy kill the signal.

I understand that AT&T is reliable, but the speeds aren't up to Comcast. I'm spoiled. Can't go less than what they offer. Can't get WOW in my neighborhood, even though people 3 blocks away can. This is Chicago, not some unincorporated County in Kentucky. Just screwed up . Rarely any cities that offer three or more sources for internet or cable. Then on the other hand, because of commercials I rarely watch live TV and any present day show is available on the internet an hour or two after airing. I don't think cable/satellite TV is as necessary as it once was.

I am all over the place with my stuff. I have Comcast for cable and pay them 120 a month for a gazillion channels. 30 bucks a month for internet through Century Link. Piggybacking off a friend for Netflix and HBO GO.
