for me its gotta the Sirius era. I love it all the access of the show the convenience of knowing what they are talking about simply by looking at my sirius player and finlly the lack of cencorship. How about you guys?

I agree, but for me it's really all the cock talk that has taken the show to the next level.

Is this The Tommy from Malden?

The guy with the ass kissing calls and whose frequent on air appearances personifies how dull the Stern show has become? (It's not your fault Tommy, It's Howard's fault for only picking up the same 1 or 2 asskissing safe callers).

    I'll answer anyway, 1994-2002, 2006-2007.

Show has been terrible for awhile now, and unlistenable since he joined agt

For me, it's any time David Arquette is on, preferably with a timely phone call from that MFB or that class act, Bobo. I always love hearing Howard ask how that "recovery" is progressing and what Howard would have done if he had been married to Courtney (that randy fella!). Then I really tune my listening appendages in to catch Robin's fresh take on the news. For, you see, despite its pedestrian name, the HSS "news" is actually a madcap review of topical news items from the last few days, but one in which Howard always makes sure to tuck in a few real zingers to lighten up the mood. Shucks, that guy knows how to throw a curve ball. Just when you think there's no humor in a Mexican drug-land mass slaying, that zany Howard and his team find something light-hearted and fun in it all.

Howard was at his best in the mid to late 90's, the show was at its best in the artie era, IMO.

I think around the time Alison was pregnant with Ashley and a few years after were my favorite. When he would bike to Jackie's house and ogle Nancy. When Fred's wife was in the Tony and Tina wedding thing, and Timmy died. those were the funny years for me

Some good answers here I agree with some particularly the late 90s that was a special time also the Artie era you just can't replace that guy. But if your posting a date range (1996 - 2000) post why you liked that era , players, specific shows etc

    96-04.

My reasoning is that prior to 96 the show was heavily in the clapping era, which is too morning zooey to me. Love the end of Billy West through the beginning of Artie. The show went down hill when the battle with the FCC became prevalent in 04.. as he drew closer to the end of KROCK it was more and more politics + promotion. Get to Sirius and now you have the Les Moonves crap, I guess you can say late 06-08 is on par with 96-04... I must omit the FCC/Moonves era from my favorite, though.

I was not a fan of the clapping era myself it was highly distracting from an otherwise brilliant show. Billy West was irreplaceable it was a huge error by krock to let him walk its a fine line with guys of that talent, wide range voices comedy etc West hit it out of the park day in and day out. The overdose on politics during 2004 gained few followers, Howard felt he was waging an important struggle but lets face it during Bush jr's administration it was easy to believe I myself thought democracy was ending in America. I'm not sure what Les Moonves crap your talking the first few years at sirius with Artie were some of the best years in my opinion. You still had the Ellegant one, football picks uncensored content I can't say enough good things about it!
