    I prefer soft boiled eggs with saltines crushed up in them..soooo good.

    you know, that's a great idea.

    No joke, I make perfect boiled eggs now but still have problems with the shells sticking. I tried letting the eggs get old first and it helps a ton. If you don't let the temp of the egg go over 180F it won't stink at all and the white isn't rubbery. You can't cook them at a full boil but must let them simmer for a long time - like 25 minutes. If you could set your oven to 180 you could put them in there and they would never overcook. I may try this.

    when my eggs are done, i immediately pour the hot water off, shake them pretty violently in the pot and let them bang into each other and the side of the pot for a few seconds til they are all good and cracked on all surfaces. put the pot under cold running water and the peels just fall off pretty much in one fractured piece. works almost every time. your so very welcome. :hathair:

    You can't believe the experiments I've tried on eggs. I have even set up a control pot side by side with my experimental pot to verify my results. I'm not even joking about this. :facepalm: The taste/texture of my eggs are second to none, it's the fucking shells that are stumping me. It all has to do with PH.

    I am so trying this. It will eliminate any PH variance from my water. Of course, I will have to boil a control pot as well to verify :facepalm:
