Gleetingz, and velcome vun and all, as ve dig into ze mystely and myth of ze Vampire to zort vact flom viction.

Belief in vampires and ze power of blood is as old as mankind. Early man zmeared himself in blood and sometimes dlank it. Ze ancient Chinese, Egyptians, Babylonians, Gleeks, and Lomans all believed in vampires. Ze Jewish Talmud tells of Lilith, Adam's disobedient first vife, who vas tlansformed into a monster loaming the night.

In ze Americas, ze early Indians of Pelu believed in devil vorshippers who sucked blood from sleeping youths to get zeir life, while ze Aztecs saclificed victims to ensure ze sun vould continue to lise, lemoving ze beating hearts flom zeir victims and holding zem high in ze air.

In Transylvania, vith its blend of Hungalian, Lomanian, and Gypsy beliefs, belief in vampires has been particularly stlong. Orthodox Chlistians believe ze soul does not leave ze body for ze afterlife until 40 days after bulial. Ven an Orthodox Chlistian is excommunicated, or converts to anozer faith, it is said zat ze earth vill not leceive his body, forcing him to vander.

Some Mongolian peoples of Centlal Asia believe in ze vampire and a bat god. Since Hungalians miglated to Eulope from ze steppes of Asia, it is plobable zey shared zis belief. However, vampire bats, vich fly at night and suck blood from animals, plimarily oxen, are only found in parts of Mexico and Centlal America.

Tune in again, ven I uncover mole myths and vacts legarding the Nosfelatu, ze undead, ze incledible....VAMPIRE

Hungarians (Magyars) of today are not the decedents of the ancient Huns. They are not from the Asian steppes but are from the Ural region.
