Seriously guys, is moving threads the only way to handle things???

Sources: UFC owners in advanced talks to sell business

The owners of the UFC are in advanced talks to sell the business, sources told ESPN.com.

At least four bidders are believed to have submitted bids for the organization, including WME/IMG, China Media Capital, The Blackstone Group and Dalian Wanda Group. The winning bid, should things proceed, is expected to be for a valuation between $3.5 billion and $4 billion, multiple sources with knowledge of the negotiations told ESPN.com.

"As a private company, we don't discuss speculation or rumors related to our business," said Dave Sholler, vice president of public relations and athlete marketing for the UFC.

Rousey and McGregor each headlined three UFC events in 2015. Rousey's title fight against Holly Holm in November set a new company attendance record at Etihad Stadium. One month later, McGregor's title fight against Jose Aldo in Las Vegas drew the promotion's second-highest gate receipts in its history, with ticket sales grossing more than $10 million.

Other bidders said to be in the mix are WME/IMG, which owns media properties and represents athletes, including Rousey, the former UFC bantamweight champion. Blackstone Group is also believed to be a bidder. A senior executive at the private equity firm, David Blitzer, owns a minority stake in the New Jersey Devils, Philadelphia 76ers and British soccer team Crystal Palace.

Another bidder is state-backed investment firm China Media Capital, which in October beat out Dalian Wanda and national broadcaster CCTV to win the broadcast rights for the Chinese Super League, the highest level of soccer in the country. In December, CMC, with another Chinese investment group, Citic Capital, bought a 13 percent stake of British soccer team Manchester City for a reported $400 million. UFC executive vice president Garry Cook was CEO of Manchester City from 2008 to 2011.

It's not surprising that the leading bid is said to be from China. Chinese companies have made $110.8 billion worth of deals in 2016 compared with $106 billion for all of 2015, according to Dealogic, a financial markets data provider.

Now, in a new interview with the Las Vegas Review Journal, UFC President Dana White is denying the ESPN reporters report.

“The UFC is not for sale,” White told the Review-Journal on Tuesday evening. “The ESPN story is overblown. Darren Rovell is not a fan of facts. His facts could not be further off.”

    Dana is full of shit.
They hired a firm to oversee the sale.
There are reports that Zuffa was looking to sell a portion and keep majority ownership (so DW might not technically be lying), & then they received a huge offer for it all!

Wouldn't it be easier for a mod to ask the OP what tag they want or just add any random tag rather than moving the thread?

Vince going to step in? What was the company that Shane was involved with in China?

    Yeah, too much smoke...

I've dove head-first into this story. The Fetitas just agreed to buy The Palms in Vegas (albeit for a relatively paltry sum) and are already being rumored to buy into the Raiders, provided their stadium and relocation agendas push through.

You'd think common sense would prevail, right? Instead things are getting moved to "Unsolved Mysteries" - a forum that was filled with untapped potential, but almost no traffic. It's a discredit to the poster, the thread, and the forum.

Of course he is. Probably can't say anything at this stage, other than what he did say.

    Hey Biff
Shane bombed big with that company.
He personally lost over $10 million of his own money.
Vince doesn't have that kind of money, plus investors are weary of him outside of WWE.
    Everything else he tried failed!!!

Thanks for the info. Didn't Shane push Vince back in the day to buy them?

Does anybody else remember when UFC started and it was some weird-ass, bare-knuckle tournament style of fighting with huge Samoans fighting wiry BJJ martial artists? And now it's valued at $4 billion. Fuck.

Yeh, not just them, but Strikeforce too!!!
The Chinese streaming company that Shane bought into never took off in China.
They have a large distrust in non Chinese companies.
The Chinese are also big with bootlegging, so very few are open to pay monthly fees for stuff they can get for free or close to free.
One person buys a bootleg and shares it with 10 others.
Shane actually stepped down & stopped taking a salary and the company still did not turn around.
That is why he is back as an on screen character.

Sounds like Shane sucks as a business man, then! I do like him as a character and writer.

Yeah, I can't really fault them for wanting to cash out. But at the same time, I don't think there's a buyer out there who can do justice to what they built. I just wish things were in safer hands.

I can't believe Mark Davis would sell any substantial portion of the team.
