Well, looks like I am out. Frankly, the content here has gone downhill since the new "paid members only" policy has been implemented, a poorly thought out plan in my opinion.

I have always been a paid subscriber but fewer members has resulted in less interesting stuff to read, unless it's just a coincidence. My forum of choice, The Stern forum, was already on shaky ground with 90% of posts not even about Stern or his show...okay, but meanwhile anything loosely related to politics as discussed on Stern's show is banned from that forum. How stupid, but whatever.

On a personal level, I remember one time I posted a news story and got a vicious, nasty "public" reprimand from site-owner Dawg that I was an asshole who thought "the rules" didn't apply to me. The "rule" I supposedly broke was you can't post a whole sourced article, just part of the article and a link. Problem was this new rule was only mentioned in a newer post by Dawg, while the original rules were not changed to reflect this. Furthermore, who gives a shit about such petty crap? If Dawg posting what a douche I am for "thinking the rules don't apply to me" was supposed to be funny I don't get it, but more likely, Dawg was so illusional that he thought everybody should read and know every fucking thing posted on this site.

So while the price to continue here seems reasonable at first, sorry, IMO even $0.01 is not worth it because it's more about greed than necessity and "the product" pretty much sucks now.

I have been donating $5 per month for access to the forums and within the last couple of weeks, my access is gone.

I see a number of members online so I presume something has changed but it is not obvious what that actually is.

Can you grant me access or should I cancel the automatic monthly payments?
