Mcdonalds does not carry steak or bagels past 10:30 due to the way they are made. Bagels have to go through a special process to be heated up, which is much different than the muffins, biscuits, and McGriddles. This process would take too long, and would cause problems with the way the lunch items are made. Steak isn’t made past 10:30 because it needs its own section of the grill. When lunch starts, the grill is cleaned and reg meat—the meat used on all burgers except quarter pounders, double QP’s, and signature burgers—is cooked there instead. If steak was cooked past 10:30, the grill would have to constantly be cleaned rather than once every few reg meat drops. This would simply be too much work, and would cause big delays for lunch items. Scrambled eggs and egg whites are done past 10:30 for the same reason as steak.
