The beginning of fantasy baseball season is the best. Many a moron will drop proven players for a no name that has a big game on opening day.
We shall see which team finishes with the better record. Cubs gonna go on a nice 20-4 run
Soooo.... They're gonna mid-season trade for about 6 pitchers and find some teams to take all the shit contracts they have? Theo really IS a genius!!!
Either that or they knew it was "ride or die" with what they had because they were out of money and have to wait it out.
I stick with my "somewhere right around .500" prediction. A game or two above or below.
Pete Alonso's 450-foot homer leaves the bat at 118 mph.
Theo wins in Boston and the North side.
Yeah he's a genius.
Hammels 8ip 1ER
He sacrificed dollars and ability to compete down the road to take a shot at the Series. The Cubs won, so he's a "genius". How would the North Side feel right now if the Cubs didn't happen to win that year for whatever reason? You know once you get to the playoffs it's a total crap shoot.
He put the Cubs in a position to make a run that year and crossed his fingers. At the expense of 2019 and probably 2020.
If he was a genius, they wouldn't be out of money. He's a risk taker, and it worked. Once. Which is all he needed to be worshipped like a god on the North Side. For now, anyway.
You're underselling what he did. Big time. Cubs were almost or at 100 loses a few years before they won it all.
He did it with a lot of young talent that many felt could be a dynasty (And still are very young). Don't confuse Boston with Chicago. This wasn't load up on free agents with 100+ million dollar deals. They brought in a few pieces sure. But their kids were the core of the 2016 World Series Champion Chicago Cubs.
You act like their roster is made up of 38 year olds with 5 years left on deals. They're still a young team. Imo they are a few arms away from competing for a WS. Their bats can be as good as any in baseball. Need a couple bullpen pitchers and a couple starters.
Looks like Trout is out through at least Sunday.
He'd still be a top 50 player lol
I don’t know. They were given a huge influx of cash a year or two after he came on board. I’m on my phone but I’ll try to find a payroll by year report.
Believe me, I’m rooting for him to get back ASAP, he’s the rock for me in my $ league.
Why can't I drop Bryce Harper?
because the Nationals already did.
Yankees had the same issue 5 years ago and fired the strength and conditioning coach before year end.
