    Imagine a world without trash collectors. Not good. I'm glad Artie's not sitting in some fucking cell 20 hours a day, at least. Then again, I don't see where he committed a crime. Heroin is the ultimate consumer product, as kindly old William Burroughs pointed out at one time. No victim, no crime, nobody's business. IMHO.

    It’s not a victimless crime. Look at many of the people living on the streets and people now unable to work because of their illegal drug addictions. Who pays for those people? I agree there are no easy answers, but if someone truly could take drugs and not become a burden on society or destroy their families, then maybe we could legalize it. Would legalization encourage more people to do drugs and then what happens with more addicts for society to support?
