Ever since this COVID business started I've been conciously trying to support local/small businesses.

Do you pay a little more to support the little guy or just look for the best deal wherever it comes from?

I try but most of the time I can't find what I need in this backwater shithole town. Simple stuff like building materials- "no sorry, we don't carry that".

If people actually bought from small businesses as they talked about it on social media, big named stores like wal-mart won't have taken over.

I shop where ever the best deals at.

We have a family run ACE hardware here, friendly staff, everything you need in stock. I seldom need to drive a town over for Lowes.

In the beginning, I tried but they weren't open, so no one to answer phone.
Now it seems they are set-up for curbside service so I will try again.

Yes, a lot of the Mom and Pop stores have basic items that Supermarkets can’t keep in stock. They really need our support.

I needed a special showerhead with a water filter made by Culligan. I tried to support my local plumbing houses who said they "never heard of it" or "What is Culligan?" I finally found it on Walmart.com and they delivered it to the store free of charge within a couple of days, and received a text when it arrived there. I really tried here, but Walmart actually came through this time.

I'd rather pay 50 cents more for Zep window cleaner at True Value here in town instead of driving further to Lowe's or Home Depot and stand outside in the hot AZ sun because they only let a few in at a time do to the Kung Flu.

I hate to say it but I'm probably less likely to do so right now. The local businesses aren't as likely to have everything I need, requiring multiple trips (and multiple masks, etc.) for what I could get in a single trip from a big box store (or via online).
