This August, Rhino Records will issue the Complete Woodstock concert on 38 CDs to commemorate the 50 year anniversary event (almost complete, as it is missing 3 tracks, two pulled by the Hendrix estate, and one song by Sha Na Na missing due to a tape mishap). I watch the film every August, as it is such a great part of rock history. But at a retail price of $799 (1,969 copies made available for sale), it's overpriced by at least $300.00. A more price friendly 10 CD set will also be available, as will a budget 3 disc edition. Peace and love, peace and love (and mud, brown acid, and VD).

I'm gonna need that Sha na na song before I purchase this.

    Fuck your "tape mishap".

No Sha Na Na track = no sale. Actually, $799 = no buy for me.

I heard about this on the radio the other day.

Getting real tired about hearing about Woodstock lately. I know it was a good concert and everything with a lot of great bands, but these fucking baby boomers put it in the same category as the JFK assassination or the moon landing as far as world changing events. It was just a bunch of hippies in a field smoking grass, taking acid, and listening to folk and rock music.

It’s ironic that the guys in Sha Na Na probably don’t even have enough money to buy this box set. I sort of remember the Bowzer guy from the muppet show. He was like a low rent Fonzie with a hook nose.

I already have this set in bootleg form. It's called the Woodstock Project, a couple guys assembled all known recordings from the concert, as well as audience recordings, and it's pretty awesome if you're into Woodstock. It's available at certain websites for FREE.
So yeah, I'm good, I'll save my money.

So they tool the very best stuff 50 years ago and made a best selling double album that all old farts played to death. Then a few years later they made a second album of stuff not on the first and sold that.

All of the rest of the stuff was crap - until now. For hundreds of dollars 1,969 people can have all of the shit not good enough for the first 2 double albums.

This is a play to get this stuff protected before the 50 year copyright law expires. Cash grab motivated by lawyers.
