I heard on Robins news today that the so called experts say that the recession was over last year, my question is do you think that it is really over? What are they smoking?:toke: I know here we were not as affected as everywhere else but I still worry about my job from day to day and there still are no jobs anywhere around. I am by no way a big political or business person, just an everyday guy wondering how things are elsewhere. Are they still fucked?

I dont get how they determined its over, what criteria did we meet for them to say its over?

It sounds like BS, its over yet there still no jobs, huge deficits, and gays are allowed to marry, oh the humanity!

Yes. The Recession is over. It's a simple formula to determine a true "recession", I'm not an economist, so I'm not sure of the exact criteria.

Are times still tough, fuck yeah they are.

    Here, this is from Wikipedia.
"In a 1975 New York Times article, economic statistician Julius Shiskin suggested several rules of thumb for defining a recession, one of which was "two down quarters of GDP".[3] In time, the other rules of thumb were forgotten,[4] and a recession is now often defined simply as a period when GDP falls (negative real economic growth) for at least two quarters.[5][6] Some economists prefer a definition of a 1.5% rise in unemployment within 12 months.[7]"
