“Hopefully, all is going as planned. We have the money. We have a location. We have the offers out to people. Kevin and I went to the doctor cuz, you know, you have to get insured and bonded and stuff. We’re in motion to start pre-production January. February we start shooting.”

“So as long as everything stays on track, yes, Jay & Silent Bob reboot will be made and I’m very excited because I definitely would love to do one more Jay and Bob movie before, you know, we get super old and too old to hang out with apes and swing from grappling hooks and all that good stuff.”

“I think it’s going to be a lot of fun. The script’s super funny and it’ll be a lot of fun. And Kevin throws out all new humor with what’s going on today like with social media and this and that. I’m excited.”

Hard to believe that 20 or 25 years ago people thought this guy was going to turn into a major director.

    I know I did.
You gotta admit that Clerks and Chasing Amy were very well written and original. He really had an ear for dialogue and how to present it in a funny entertaining way.

I just don't know what the fuck happened to him after that. He just stayed in that Jay and Silent Bob world for too long.

There's nothing funny about two 50 year olds from NJ hanging out in front of a convenience store

I loved Clerks and Mall Rats. Chasing Amy never did it for me, as haven’t any of his other movies.

Zack and Miri Make a Porno was OK.

True, but I have to admit: I almost wet my pants laughing at the Pillow Pants scene in Clerks 2.

If we were all being honest with ourselves...we would admit that Clerks was not that great...shitty in fact...

Smith has the opposite of an ear for dialogue. You could make the case that it's sometimes interesting, but it's just rant and ramble as opposed to actual discussion. And most times, it's not even naturally flowing rant and ramble; there's a lotta shoehorning involved.

Nobody on this planet talks like he writes.

    He's also corny as fuck.

I worked in a video store from 1995-1998. Not a big choice video either, a local mom and pop video store. we rented porn too. Clerks was our bible. After that movie came out, we all tried being smart asses to the customers. I had a phone call very similar to the call Randall had with the porn titles.

Mallrats was great too. Chasing Amy, Dogma and J&SB Strike Back were also good. I stopped watching his movies after Zack and Miri.

Just got back from seeing The Grinch with my kids. It was directed by Scott Mosier (the snowball guy from Clerks).

No Clerks 3 because Jeff Anderson (Randall) said no. What the fuck is that guy up to where he is turning down a big role? Did he get really fat and is embarrassed?

That’s too bad. I liked Clerks 2 but I think I’m the only one that did. Rosario looks like she enjoys sex.
