Keith Moon with his legendary Pictures of Lilly drum kit.
Melvin Parker is a monster on 2 drums. That foot work. He's great in all the TAMI Show footage.
Hope you don't mind if I take you up on this.
"These African American former jazz musicians not only waxed some of the most searing punk rock ever heard ("Pay to Cum," "Sailin' On," "Banned in D.C."), they were also the first American punk band to successfully throw dub and reggae into the mix ("Leaving Babylon," "I Luv I Jah")
Yea, man. Lay it on me....everyone give me recommendations. I will take them all!
I've seen this live. Pretty nuts.
Cool, I'm going to wait and see what @Westerberg suggested you check out. I'm not going to throw around a bunch of punk shit.
Not great footage but still cool.
Wish he still played.
what a kit. snare, 2 bass drums, and 3 floor toms.
pretty good interview here:
He ends the solo playing bare handed. It looked like his hands turned bright red and swolled up in the live show but I always suspected some type of rigged gloves.
Wasn't a big fan of the big biz era Melvins, but the mirrored / shared double drumming worked really well.
Fuck Yeah, Biscuits played in a lot of great bands like Black Flag, D.O.A. and Social Distortion. great vid....
"My name is Buzz and these are my Melvins. Dale Crover another great Drummer.
I was thinking the exact same thing.
Mr. Peart should have been the first post - IMO of course.
Poor bastard died falling down an elevator shaft.
