I’d like to preface this by saying Westbrook is one of my favorite players to watch just because of how hard he plays and how incredibly athletic he is.

That said, I completely agree with you that his contract is one of the riskiest in the league. For one, he can’t shoot for shit. I think I heard he is only 65% from the FT line. That’s almost back-a-Shaq territory. Second, I can’t see his game aging well with how dependent he is strictly on athleticism. When that goes away I think he does too. I don’t see him reinventing his game like DWade or Vince Carter.

I like watching him play but wouldn't want him on my team.

Well I'm a bulls fan so I guess sure I would like him on my team lol.

    Double edged sword.

Ton of fun to watch, but not much chance of winning a championship.

I met Scotty Pippen at some charity thing at the United Center. He autographed something for me but I gave it away

I had a Fleer Scottie Pippen rookie card and traded it for a David Robinson rookie card (I think) during the summer of '91.

I also passed on a Ken Griffey Jr. Upper deck rookie card for a Jim Abbott rookie card that same summer.

I still haven't gotten over those trades.

    I'll be 46 next month.

Some general managers have made worse trades.
I’ve given all my upper deck cards to my son. He’s boxed them all up and put them away. I think he sees some value in keeping them for a long time.

These things happen. I traded in killer baseball cards Mantle i remember and a bunch of others from the 60s for 2 wax boxes of that years football cards. I was 13 at the time and the guy ripped me off bad. Got the cards from my uncle.

I still remember the secret for finding the David Robinson rookie card in the first Hoops cards set.

Pick up a pack and turn it over.

If you see a Joe Barry Carroll card through the wrapper, you've got a David Robinson rookie card in there somewhere.

The wrappers were thin and plastic back then.

My buddy actually pulled it off once.

I think I may remember that. Definitely something like that.

Buddy from high school at a Jordan rookie card and be brought it to prove it.

Was stolen from his locker that day. Was junior year so 1993 that card kept increasing for years.

The alternative was keeping an angry and disruptive player that is owed over $171M across the next 4 years.

The fact that OKC got any assets in return at all makes it a good deal for the Thunder.

OKC has a shitload of draft capital in the next few years, hope for their sake they don't squander it like Danny Ainge apparently did after being called a genius for some of his moves, most notably involving the Pierce/Garnett to Brooklyn trade.

Sixers likely going to regret giving Simmons the max?

Seems like an odd move considering the dude can’t shoot outside the lane

It is and I would love to see him get injured his game relies entirely on athleticism same way Derrick Rose and Allen Iverson did buy him even moreso

I remember getting a Silver Version of a Michael Jordan minor league baseball card out of a pack that was worth around $120. I traded it for an unopened box of football cards that contained nothing of value.

I have every baseball set from Topps complete 1972 - 2000. I think the total value is like $50 by now. If I have anything of value it’s close to fifty unopened boxes from the 90s
