Not many new songs I like on first listen. This one I did, but maybe because I've heard it before. Anyway, it's cool - and they're local boys.

    I really liked this. Thanks!

For me, their debut in 2010 was absolutely incredible, and really influential to the trajectory of where the "indie" rock genre. I heard that record's influence in a lot of other bands. The one from 2014 was okay, but probably a step back.

Will check out that Guster....haven't knowingly listened to them in years.

You know, from what I can tell, neither of these guys have much on their plate right now. Hopefully you're right, and this single means an LP coming soon.

Hey @Chigs what's your thoughts on Sammy Hagar and The Circle? They're coming through my area soon and I've contemplated going to the show.

Personally, I am not much of a Hagar fan (musically speaking. He seems like a pretty decent dude). I was still a little young for the Van Hagar years, and never really gotten into him. From what I have heard, he has some talent, but all his stuff sounds really similar to me, and I really don't get/like it.

The one Sammy Hagar and the Circle song I have heard was the one earlier in this thread, and I thought it was kind of cheesy.

For you, I would say that if you like Hagar, GO! :)

Listening to this, and I think a lot of people here may like it.

Gazebo Effect: S/T They are a Chicago based band focused on guitar heavy rock. You can hear some blues/funk/psych influenced in it from time to time, but all in all pretty straightforward R&R.

A couple for the jam band fans.

Tedeschi Trucks Band: Signs. Typical Blues based jam. I think there are about twelve members in the band. Really big inspirational sound. I really like it, but I'm more moved by their live work. Sadly, the band's multi-instrumentalist Kofi Burbridge passed away yesterday, after battling some heart issues. RIP

Ghost Light have announced they will release their debut album, Best Kept Secret, in late March. This band really does it for me. Super talented. Tom Hamilton is one of my favorite jam guitarists. He started with a Philly based Jamtronica band called "Brothers Past," and now plays with Joe Russo's Almost Dead (JRAD). The band also features Scotty Zwang ( drummer for Dopapod), and amazing pianist Holly Bowling (Huge Fan! Famous for her deconstruction of Phish and Dead improvisation).
So stoked to hear more of this

I had quite high hopes for it after being pleasantly surprised with the czarface meets metal face album, but I think this one falls short. Haven’t really listened to it properly yet but it just seems good without being great. Beats were good though.

    Fair enough:snicker:

While she has a really close relationship with her band, I guess this album was done completely by her. She recorded and overdubbed everything on her cell phone. I really like the serene mood she creates on this album. I really like a bit of formlessness and dissonance, which might be the drunks picking up their instruments for the first time sound.

I'm looking forward to this one for sure. He is pretty consistent, but there are three albums (Armchair whatever, Noble Beast, and Break it Yourself) that really do it for me. I guess his last one was pretty good, too, but I haven't really listened to it.
I listened to the album while I was working on some things, so I probably missed some things here and there. All in all, I feel the same way...was really impressed by the beats over anything else.
Thanks for sharing. Never heard of this. I dug the beginning, and the buildup, but not sure if I liked the climax. Had an industrial sound I could get behind, though, so may have to do more exploring.

@Daveindiego , I saw Kurt Vile on Sunday. It was a great show. Vile definitely enjoyed himself, and the Violators were a really nice backbone for him.
