There are only a few tunes from the new album available on youtube. In my opinion the better tracks start around the 4th song, this is the 2nd song.

They have a bunch of albums, all of which I enjoy.

Glad you like it. The band has a ton of talent. Curious to see what will happen, because Tom Hamilton has a really successful project in Joe Russo's Almost Dead. The other members have projects as well, but nothing nearly that big.

On another note. If anyone digs that classic country aesthetic, this guy might be up your alley

I was going to start a new thread about this, but assumed nobody would care.

Stereolab, a really cool, and painfully underrated, French lounge band, just announced their first North American tour in eleven years. They will also be reissuing a bunch of their albums. Very cool lounge music, but can also get really avant garde; almost jammy and psychedelic.

I'm sure most people don't give a shit, but a couple people might be way stoked (I'm one of them). Will absolutely be buying tickets to the Toronto show.

For anyone who digs electronic music, these are pretty cool. Both are very moody and atmospheric. Trippy tempo changes, IDM throwbacks, and whatnot. Good to listen to while you're working, cooking dinner, or to smoke one and relax with.

I'm picky about my electronnic music, and generally dislike heavy bangers, but these are really subtle. Big fan.

New Stephen Malkmus (famous for being the lead in Pavement, and later, Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks) is releasing a solo album. He just released another new video. Fun stuff

Saw Kurt in Mexico.Hes playing here tomorrow night.I wish he wouldnt have left WOD. WOD last two albums have been really great
Ive been digging on Steve Gunn for awhile now.The new album is good, but Way Out Weather is killer
Ive been getting turned on to some new Country lately and digging the likes of Colter Wall , John R Miller, Tyler Childers,Stugil and Stapleton.
Check out Blackfoot Gypsies.Pretty solid band and they put on a great show, but my only complaint is the singers voice starts to get to me after a bit
Also check out Quaker City Night Hawks. The have a new album about to be released
Strand of Oaks is about to release a new album also recorded with the MMJ boys (except Jim) as the backing band

I met him through the Denver circle. Maybe asshole isnt the right word, but he certainly knew he was Nathanial Raitliff.

I love ATW. Outstanding stoner rock. I might have to put some on now :snicker:

New @Dream Theater album out today. Not sure of the current state of the band, but will give it a listen.

    Curious to hear your thoughts.

I'm a bit upset I stumbled across this thread. If this is the state of "new" traditional guitar/vocal music then I am glad I'm older now and don't give a shit about new music. Call me close-minded, but not much here appeals to me even remotely.. Maybe that Derek Trucks thing, but even that seems over-produced with no flavor.

I mentioned in the Dream Theater thread, they are my favorite band. I’ve listened to the album a few times. It’s ok, not their best, not their worst (which would be their last album, The Astonishing). Every track basically sounds like something they’ve already done, but to me, it’s still better than most of the shitty music that’s out these days. I’m debating if I want to buy the vinyl. There is also a $50 special edition that has the album in 5.1 surround sound, which I would love to hear.

I’m seeing them in April, which I am excited for.

Nice! I’ve been a fan of theirs for years, and had the pleasure of seeing the groop in concert 2x many years ago
