Dont forget that the first day on the air after Carlin died he also claimed Carlin called and left him a VM apologizing going on Imus so often. I'm sure the guy who fought the FCC and the Catholic Church really called to say he was sorry to an over the hill shock jock.

    Wiggy has no fucking shame.

If that story is true, he may have just been apologizing as part of his 12-step program.

There has to be some bullshit reason that Carlin didn’t kiss up to Howard enough or he had some unreasonable demand. Carlin was a legend and compared to so many other of the shit guests why wouldn’t they have him in? Or perhaps it was Carlin that snubbed the show? That seems more likely.

The easy answer is that Carlin was not going to take a lot of bullshit and/or sit through a 90 "this is your wiki" cock talk. He would have eaten Howard alive.

He would have made that Brad Garrett interview seem like an episode of Sesame Street. He would have destroyed the Wigged one.

Not sure about that...Carlin was pretty nice to the then-very prominent Boston Globe columnist who was busted plagiarizing him. He could have piled on but he said well, I'll take it as a compliment or something like that.

That was the beginning of the end for me. Gary said they weren't sure if they would get the funny Carlin or the cerebral Carlin.

I don't care if it was the mute drunk Carlin, it would have been funnier than anything on that show in the past ten years.

Its been over a decade (where has the time gone) since Carlin died and yet is still more relevant.

Who was the Sirius radio host (older guy) that Howard tried to start an argument with? After Howard was blasting him he challenged him to come on the air with Howard. Once the guy came on the air he ate Howard for lunch and had to backtrack. This is when I lost any respect for Howard and his “feuds”. He certainly made sure in the future to attack anyone while they weren’t there. He misplayed his hand and underestimated this old guy’s abilities.

I hate to admit this from a pop culture perspective - but if it’s about ratings/social media footprint (given what it was at the time) and water-cooler talk, I think she was more popular in the whole media circus. It’s sad but it doesn’t make it untrue.

Like when McCartney and Kayne did a song together ...”I like that new Kanye song but who’s the old man with the dyed wig?”

Last I heard VH1 tried doing another reality show with her and Hulk Hogan but he refused because he didn’t want to make his ex-wife’s 18 year old goofball boyfriend a star
