Steven Tyler cross dressing is nothing new,but this new video from Aerosmith's Vegas residency was disturbing. Steven looked and acted like Liberace. The Aerosmith clip reminded me of a hilarious old video of Liberace parading around the stage in a cheerleader outfit and waving a baton.

Here it is. Liberace taking the stage looks just like Steven Tyler in the Aerosmith clip to me.
Spooky, the Liberace video synchs up perfectly to Dream On.

I dunno man, every now and then I check the prices for seeing them in LV and the seats in the balcony are $90 a piece, middle $200, and front seats $400 and up! Maybe I'm just a cheap son of a bitch but I'm not viewing them from a balcony and I refuse to pay big money to see old farts sing their greatest hits.

Rant aside if they're commanding such a premium for a residency they're doing something right.

I saw them for free in Carbondale, IL in 1998. That was the right price

Anything they did worth listening to is pre1980 . Aside from that there’s no concert I’m dropping 2-400 on a fucking seat . ... not even if you could turn the clock back to ‘75 on a Get Your Wings or Rocks tour .

A couple of my friends saw the current show in Vegas back in May. Lifelong Aerosmith fans, they couldn't stop carrying on about how great the show was. I just can't imagine pretending they are still relevant in any way. The last thing they did that was even somewhat good was "pump", and if you listen to it today, it sounds horribly lame compared to when they actually had something to say. We spent an evening running through their albums on Spotify, and their low points are ridiculously bad ("Done with Mirrors" or that "Honking on Bobo" mess are just laughably awful). Their merchandising is only one step behind KISS in terms of crass cheesiness--I don't think they ever did an Aerosmith lunchbox, but KISS didn't do a special edition "Guitar Hero" or get a roller coaster named for them, so it's a push on that count. And good lord, Steven's voice is completely gone now, there is nothing left.

...Actually had a couple of decent blues songs on it, but overall not what one would consider a “real” Aerosmith album.

Oh it's really Aerosmith all right, proving they have no idea what the blues are. They cover blues songs, but only as they can channel them through the English blues revival acts like Stones, Zeppelin or Faces.

They look ridiculous. Liberace was campy, it was part of his act. Steven Tyler looks like an old Queen. David Bowie toned it down as he got older, yet he still managed to be the epitome of cool and tasteful at the same time.

Bowie was/is exponentially more talented and progressive than Tyler, and probably has a more discriminating fan base. Tyler needs to rely on the smoke and mirrors.
