That's a fantastic movie with a great cast and top-notch acting. But personally, I preferred Saving Private Ryan because I have always been fascinated with the D-Day Invasion which the movie re-created so vividly at the beginning - some of the best film ever shot, war movie or not. But I have to say the Thin Red Line is right behind it and depicted the Pacific Theater of war amazingly.

Good movie - not as good as Saving Private Ryan.

I know I am in the minority here but I like it better then Saving Private Ryan. As has been stated, it's just an amazing film. Nick Nolte was amazing in it.

I remembered being bored by it and annoyed by Sean Penn. But, it's been a long time since I've seen it.

It aged well. Good movie. Saving Private Ryan is amazing for 10 minutes.

This is a better film with a similar title, ironically from the same year. A classic from one of the greatest directors of all time.

Thin red line aims a little too high
Girlfriend flashback scenes and native islanders were a huge buzzkill
