    Six feet under- amazing

Sopranos- the worst. Don’t give me some artsy fartsy, ambiguous ending that has interpretations and whatever. I don’t wanna think and Interpret what you might be showing us. I want simple and direct answers and I want closure.
I had to sit through 2 years of 2 halves of an awful last season because you all went on strike. Give me a good, simple, self explanatory fucking ending. I don’t watch TV to think and play Sherlock Holmes.

I mean, it was just so terrible. Awful.
Not as bad as sopranos though. It’s just so bad.

if the sopranos wanted to have an ambiguous ending they should have just faded to black with music playing. instead they wanted people to think that their cable box went out at the end which was a messed up way to end a show.

I watched exactly one episode of The Sopranos way back but understand that its finale was total shite.

Twin Peaks: The Return was excellent IMHO. Big fan.
    Ambiguous and terrifying.

Cooper wandered around like a 'tard a bit too long and the ending pissed me off but it was compellingly watchable.

St. Elsewhere was a great show, loved by critics and others in the industry. It had a very loyal following but it wasn’t a hit in the ratings, it was on the risk of being cancelled every year. The reason it lasted on the air as long as it did was who the production company was and who was the president of NBC at the time. The show was produced by MTM, MTM as in Mary Tyler Moore. MTM was created by Mary Tyler Moore’s husband Grant Tinker to produce the Mary Tyler Moore show. The company grew to produce a lot of other shows and in 1981 Grant Tinker became president of NBC and later ordered the firing of Howard Stern. Grant was successful, he turned NBC around however when the network was bought by General Electric he was still forced out. Grant’s sons were also writers on St. Elsewhere, I think the way they ended the show was kind of a “fuck you” to GE and NBC’s current leadership.

two that haven't been mentioned -

Good - Rescue Me - Bad last few seasons but it ended as well as it could have given the hole they dug themselves

Bad- Californication - Shit was just spinning it's wheels throughout it's run and never really pulled the trigger on anything

Star Trek: The Next Generation had a great finale - better than any of the subsequent movies they did.

Quantum Leap's was a huge fucking downer.

Agreed, TNG’s ending was perfect and Star Trek: Enterprise’s finale was fucking abysmal.

Star Trek's finale with Q was very satisfying and you could tell that the writers put a lot of effort into giving the fans a proper finale.
