I loved them. The first time I saw The Little Rascals was when my family was on vacation in a place called Ogunquit, Maine. We rented a place on a beach and I was watching TV and it came on in the afternoons. This was in the 1970s. Every day for two weeks I'd watch the reruns. I was hooked. Then they started playing the reruns on one of the local channels at home and that was great for me. After school I'd get home and watch. Love that stuff!

Whoa. That's tragic. I believe Darla herself had a terribly hard life and died young of hepatitis. So very sorry :(

My 10th grade history teacher was Spanky's little brother Porky on The Little Rascals. His name was Gordon Lee. I had transferred to that district that year and had no idea who he was or why he would show us Our Gang clips every week and talk about things using the word "we" all the time. Finally, I asked a guy in class what was with his obsession with the show and found out he was one of them. Nice guy, but a horrible teacher. Monotone delivery and he loved to lecture. I slept through his class 99% of the time but I still did well because we used to grade each other's tests. I'd just keep mine and fill in the answers as we went over them.

I remember Dickie wrassling his fetching young nurse, and she said "you little rascal, you!" He also swapped out maple syrup for cod liver oil, that she promptly poured on her pancakes...

Maybe that's where all this older, 20-something broads craving for puberty (or pre-puberty) dick started... :bigthink

Hey @Deee and the rest of you guys, here's that video I was talking about that did a pretty good job of chronicling "what ever happened to" a bunch of the Rascals...

It's pretty amazing that a series that began in the 20's ( with different characters of course) is still so loved.

Me! My two favorites were the haunted house episode and the golf episode with the monkey.

I dont go back to the thirties when most of these were filmed, but I watched them after school in the early 50's.
Liked them almost as much as I did Laurel and Hardy.

That was AWESOME, SMS! Thank you for sharing
I can't believe how young most of them were when they died. So tragic :(
It seems many of them died from either cancer or a heart attack.

:( Scotty died on my actual birthday...

In New York, back in the day, there was a TV host that introduced the Little Rascals on local TV. His name was Captain Jack McCarthy. He would wear a Navy Officer's uniform and always gave some words of advice to kids. Loved that guy. Right after the Little Rascals came the Three Stooges and they were introduced by a host named Officer Joe Bolton who wore a policeman's uniform and introduced each episode.

I believe this also included the line " don't drink the milk! Why? It spoiled! I'm way ahead of you sister". Which I still say to this day.

That was my introduction to them as well. I'm so glad I grew up during that era when local TV stations were owned independently and not by some big conglomerate. Stations like Channel 11, 9 and 5 had so much more character back then. I really miss those days.
